CARSON CITY, Nev. — Conservative attorney and former gubernatorial candidate Joey Gilbert has endorsed Republican Stacy Woodbury in the race for Nevada Assembly District 40, her campaign announced Sunday.
“Nevada needs fighters in Carson City who understand the Constitution, stand up for the people, and refuse to bow to the political establishment. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Stacy Woodbury for Assembly in District 40,” Gilbert said.
“Stacy is a proven conservative who has spent decades serving Nevada in both the public and private sectors. She understands how government works, where it’s broken, and most importantly how to fix it. We need leaders who will defend our freedoms, protect our communities, and push back against the out-of-control bureaucracy that too often forgets it works for the people.
“Assembly District 40 deserves an assemblywoman who knows what a woman is, and who will stand strong for election integrity, law and order, economic opportunity, and the constitutional rights of every Nevadan. Stacy Woodbury is that leader.
“I encourage conservatives across District 40 to get behind Stacy’s campaign and help send a true champion for Nevada families to Carson City.”
Woodbury said she is honored to have Gilbert’s support and pointed to his advocacy on constitutional issues.
“I’m honored to have Joey’s support,” Woodbury said. “He has been a strong voice for our Constitution and for the people of Nevada. This campaign is about restoring common sense to Carson City, standing up for law enforcement, protecting our communities, and ensuring government works for the people, not against them.”
Gilbert’s endorsement joins a growing list of leaders backing Woodbury, including former State Treasurer Patty Cafferata, former Trump Admin official and Assemblyman Ken Gray, Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell, and former Assemblyman Lynn Hettrick, along with business and community leaders from across District 40 and the state.
Woodbury, a 30-year Nevada resident, has worked in both state government and the private sector. Her campaign is focused on public safety, economic opportunity and government accountability.
Background: Gilbert was a leading conservative candidate in Nevada’s 2022 Republican gubernatorial primary, carrying both Carson City and Storey County — key portions of Assembly District 40 — and demonstrating strong grassroots support across Northern Nevada.
